Slate of Candidates for 2026–2027 ASPEN Board of Directors

The ASPEN 2026 Nominations Committee is pleased to present to the ASPEN membership the following Slate of Candidates for service on the 2026-2027 Board of Directors. The 2026 Board of Directors Slate was selected and approved by the Nominations Committee at its meeting on February 14, 2026, in Long Beach.

Each candidate’s selected accomplishments are highlighted. Terms begin on June 1, 2026. The entire Board of Directors for the coming year is also included below.

Slate of Candidates for 2026–2027

Vice President
Jeanette Hasse, PhD, RD, LD, CNSC, CCTD, FASPEN, FADA 

  • Manager, Transplant Nutrition (2006–Present), Baylor University Medical Center; leads multi-site transplant nutrition program, manages 14 specialists, oversees budget, and serves on Senior Management Team.
  • Editor-in-Chief, Nutrition in Clinical Practice (2003–2023)
  • Principal Investigator on multiple federally and institutionally funded research studies, including Harry S. Moss Heart Trust grant, advancing evidence on malnutrition, body composition, and outcomes in transplant populations.
  • Highly published international expert, with peer-reviewed articles and global guideline contributions through 2025, including GLIM malnutrition consensus updates.
  • Author/editor of foundational clinical nutrition texts and curricula, including ASPEN Core Curriculum and Krause’s Food & the Nutrition Care Process.
  • Recipient of national lifetime honors, including the inaugural Jeanette Hasse Transplant Dietitian Award and designation as Fellow of ASPEN.

Assistant Secretary/Treasurer
Anne Tucker, PharmD, BCNSP, FASPEN

  • Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Critical Care & Nutrition Support (2006–Present), MD Anderson Cancer Center, providing advanced nutrition support and critical care pharmacy leadership at one of the world’s leading oncology institutions.
  • Nationally recognized expert in nutrition support pharmacy, serving as Chair/Vice Chair of the Board of Pharmacy Specialties Nutrition Support Specialty Council and contributing to certification standards and continuing education.
  • Highly published scholar and guideline contributor, with sustained peer-reviewed publications through 2025 in Nutrition in Clinical Practice, JPEN, AJHP, and Hospital Pharmacy, including lead authorship on oncology nutrition and acid–base disorders.
  • Recipient of multiple national honors, including Fellow of ASPEN (2022), ASPEN Distinguished Nutrition Support Pharmacist Service Award, and MD Anderson Preceptor of the Year.

Directors
Matthew Bechtold, MD, FASPEN

  • Section Chief of Gastroenterology (2023–Present), Harry S. Truman Veterans’ Hospital, providing senior clinical and administrative leadership while serving as Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the University of Missouri.
  • Internationally recognized scholar in gastroenterology and clinical nutrition, with more than 7,800 citations, h-index of 44, and sustained high-impact publications through 2024–2025, including leadership on systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and nutrition quality initiatives.
  • National leader within ASPEN, including service as Chair/Co-Chair of the Enteral Nutrition Committee, Chair of the Annual Conference Program Committee, contributor to major consensus and value projects, and designation as Fellow of ASPEN (2021).

Manpreet Mundi, MD

  • Chair/Medical Director, Nutrition Support Service & Medical Director of Clinical Dietetics (2022–Present), Mayo Clinic, providing enterprise-level leadership for inpatient and outpatient nutrition support, home enteral nutrition, and clinical dietetics at a leading academic medical center.
  • National leader in clinical nutrition research and innovation, serving as Principal Investigator on multiple active multicenter industry- and foundation-funded trials (2023–Present), holding issued U.S. patents for enteral feeding devices, and publishing extensively in JPEN, Nutrition in Clinical Practice, and related journals.
  • Stanley J. Dudrick Research Scholar Award recipient (2024), recognizing sustained contributions to nutrition science, education, and professional leadership.

Kristen Roberts, PhD, RDN, CNSC, FASPEN, FAND

  • Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine (2022–Present), The Ohio State University & Wexner Medical Center, serving as clinical and educational lead for medical nutrition therapy integration and advanced nutrition education across undergraduate, graduate, and medical curricula.
  • Nationally recognized leader in nutrition education and scholarship, with sustained high-impact publications through 2024–2025, deputy/associate editorial leadership with Nutrition in Clinical Practice, and leadership on evidence-based guidelines and consensus initiatives.
  • Recipient of multiple national honors (2023–2025), including ASPEN Excellence in Nutrition Support Education Award, Fellow of the National Academies of Practice, Fellow of ASPEN, and Distinguished Nutrition Support Dietitian (Advanced Clinical Practice).

David Seres, MD, SM, PNS, FASPEN

  • Professor of Medicine and Director of Medical Nutrition (2020–2025 retired), Columbia University Irving Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, with institution-wide leadership in clinical nutrition, ethics, and physician education.
  • International authority in clinical nutrition and public policy, serving as Section Editor for Nutrition at UpToDate, authoring influential peer-reviewed research through 2024–2025, and contributing to national and international guideline, regulatory, and safety initiatives (including USP and NIH panels).
  • Recipient of the field’s highest honors, including Distinguished Fellow of the American Society for Nutrition (2025), ASN Roland L. Weinsier Award for Excellence in Nutrition Education (2024), ASPEN Barney Sellers Public Policy Award, and Fellow of ASPEN.

Election Process

The membership can present additional nominations for any position by submitting a petition containing the signatures of 2.5% of the voting membership to the ASPEN office by March 17, 2026.

If there is only one nominee for any officer or director position, the Secretary-Treasurer shall cast a unanimous ballot for said officer or director.

If there is more than one nominee for any officer or director position, a ballot shall be sent to the membership no later than March 31, 2026, listing all candidates for each position for which more than one candidate has been nominated. The nominee receiving a plurality of votes cast shall be elected.

The Nominations Committee is appointed each year and consists of the President, President-Elect, Immediate Past President, one member appointed by the Board of Directors, and one individual, each representing the Board of Advisors, the Committee and Task Force Chairs, and the Section Chairs.
