Travel awards for 2027 ASPEN Nutrition Science & Practice Conference in Chicago, Illinois February 13-16 are outlined below. Applications are now open!
The goal of travel awards is to provide clinicians with educational opportunities to further their knowledge of nutrition support, enhance their skills, and network with colleagues and experts from around the world.
ICU Dietitians Travel Award
This travel award is designed to provide education and training to four (4) current registered dietitians who have a focus in critical care. This award will allow recipients a space to network specifically with peers in their area of practice, to grow their knowledge base, and increase their awareness of ASPEN and how it might support their practice and career.
Award recipients receive recognition at a section forum and up to $2,000 in reimbursement funds. Funds include in-person registration for ASPEN27.* Remaining reimbursement funds may be used for the following eligible expenses:
- Four nights lodging at an ASPEN-contracted hotel.
- Travel costs (including airfare, ground transportation, and meals)
- ASPEN membership fee (for new members)*

ICU Nurses Travel Award
This travel award is designed to provide education and training to one (1) current nurse or nurse practitioner who has a focus in clinical care. This award will allow the recipient a space to network specifically with peers in critical care, to grow their knowledge base, and increase their awareness of ASPEN and how it might support their practice and career.
Award recipients receive recognition at a section forum and up to $2,000 in reimbursement funds. Funds include in-person registration for ASPEN27.* Remaining reimbursement funds may be used for the following eligible expenses:
- Four nights lodging at an ASPEN-contracted hotel.
- Travel costs (including airfare, ground transportation, and meals)
- ASPEN membership fee (for new members)*

Neonatal Nutrition Fellowship for Dietitians
This fellowship is designed to provide education and training to five (5) current Neonatal Intensive Care Unit dietitians in the United States. This fellowship will allow recipients a space to network specifically with peers in their area of practice, to grow their knowledge base, collaborate on research opportunities, and increase their awareness of ASPEN and how it might support their practice and career.
Applicants must reside and practice in the United States. One fellowship will be awarded for each of the following U.S regions: Central, East, Pacific, South Central, and South East. A map describing the regions is available on the application.
The Fellowship will cover up to $4000 including ASPEN27 registration and the Pediatric Pre-Conference Course*. Remaining reimbursement funds may be applied to:
- Travel and lodging to attend the ASPEN27 Conference on February 13-16, 2027, in Chicago, IL
- ASPEN membership fee (for new members)*
- Recognition at the Neonatal Section Forum
- Participation in a Neonatal Nutrition Curriculum, which will consist of monthly activities to include ASPEN resources, guidelines, books, and other pertinent publications
- Mentorship from an ASPEN member who specializes in neonatal care.
