What You'll Learn
This interactive skills lab provides healthcare professionals with hands-on experience using various enteral nutrition administration methods, feeding tubes, venting supplies, and accessories. Through rotating stations, healthcare team members will develop practical skills, strengthen clinical problem-solving, and explore strategies to improve patient comfort, quality of life, and overall enteral nutrition care. Content will be guided by ASPEN recommendations and best practices.
- Demonstrate the correct setup and administration techniques for bolus, gravity, and pump-assisted enteral feeding.
- Troubleshoot common equipment or mechanical issues that can occur with enteral nutrition administration and venting via enteral tube using proper safety and tube maintenance standards.
- Evaluate clinical and lifestyle factors that influence the selection of various delivery methods for patients receiving enteral nutrition.
