International Clinical Ethics (IC Ethics) Section Forum: Ethical Principles and Decision-Making Frameworks for the Nutrition Support Professional

This session will begin with a brief presentation on key ethical principles and decision-making frameworks relevant to nutrition support practice. The presentation will provide a foundation for recognizing and navigating complex ethical issues that may arise in clinical care.

Participants will then explore two patient cases that highlight real-world ethical challenges in nutrition support. Through interactive case discussion, participants will examine the ethical implications of each case and consider how ethical principles and frameworks can guide clinical decision-making.

The session will conclude with an “Ask the Experts” panel discussion, providing an opportunity for participants to engage with experienced nutrition support professionals, ask questions, and gain practical insights into navigating ethical dilemmas in clinical practice. Panelists include Dr. Albert Barrocas, Dr. Dylan Sherry, Martha Hagenbrock, and Dr. Diana Cardenas.
