ASPEN has submitted comments to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on proposed revisions to the Guidance for Federal Financial Assistance (2 CFR Part 200). ASPEN raised concerns that several proposed changes could increase administrative burdens, limit scientific collaboration, threaten research continuity, and hinder the advancement and dissemination of clinical nutrition research.
ASPEN emphasized the importance of maintaining a rigorous scientific peer-review process; preserving opportunities for collaboration; supporting researchers’ ability to share findings through conferences and publications; and ensuring the stability needed to advance nutrition science and improve patient care.
